ACCOUNTANT
Purpose
To maximize accounting expertise in collecting financial information, analyzing the information and finally summarizing the information into management reports that can be used in decision making
Duties
- Prompt accounts reconciliations and reporting/resolving any discrepancies within a reasonable timeframe
- Management of account receivable accounts ensuring timely payments and carrying out monthly reconciliations.
- Management of payroll processing by ensuring employees are paid and statutory deductions relating to payroll are adhered to and paid to the relevant govt bodies.
- Accounts payable management by verifying transactions including monthly reconciliations, preparing disbursements and obtaining authorization of payments from the Management.
- Ensuring Contra accounts reconciliations and postings are done on a monthly basis.
- Daily cash flows update including tracking of receivables and payables from all the relevant banks
- Liaise with the cashier in preparation of daily receipts reconciliation submitting the same to Management
- Daily branches sales and banking’s reconciliations
- Ensuring that all sundry expenses are posted to the system and Payment of the same is done by 1st of every month.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting regulations
- Maintaining accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Monthly Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information; preparing and mailing statements; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
- Collects revenue by reminding delinquent accounts; notifying customers of insufficient payments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
Academic Qualifications
- CPA – Certified Public Accountant
- Bachelor of Commerce (Added advantage)
- Computer skills, accounting systems skills
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of principles of accounting and systems.
- Strong financial and administrative management skills
- Pay roll management, accurate statutory deductions calculations and processing management.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
